Mr. Nathanson has practised as counsel in the field of civil litigation and administrative law since being called to the Bar of British Columbia in May 1969. His practice has included appearances in all of the Superior Courts of British Columbia, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Mr. Nathanson has acted as counsel and as an arbitrator in commercial arbitrations.

Mr. Nathanson has experience in a broad variety of commercial litigation disputes, including class actions, professional negligence, shareholder disputes, commercial fraud, pension litigation and product liability.

The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, the Chambers Global Guide 2010 and the 2009 edition of Best Lawyers in Canada rank Mr Nathanson as one of the leading commercial litigators in Vancouver and British Columbia.  In 2010, Best Lawyers named Irwin Nathanson "Lawyer of the Year" in Vancouver in the category of "Bet the Company Litigation".
